Between January 2026 and March 2026, the Boat Race Company will be holding up to 41 training races for Oxford and Cambridge University Boat Clubs against invited opposition between Putney Bridge and Chiswick Bridge. These will take place at the following times:

While every effort will be taken by the organisers to keep to the above timings, these timings should be considered as approximate by mariners.
Each race will consist of two ‘eights’ racing with the flood tide from the University Stone at Putney to the Boat Race finish post at Chiswick. These sessions will be followed by up to 5 launches, as per the table above.
Vessels navigating in the area during these times should take note of the following:
- Whilst rowing vessels will be racing, the rowing vessels and following launches are required to navigate in accordance with the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, 1972 (COLREGS), Tideway Code and PLA regulations.
- Whilst racing, vessels may be traveling at speeds up to approximately 10 knots.
- Motor vessels in the area are to be aware of the race and are to navigate with caution, keeping wash to a minimum.
- Human powered vessels in the area are to be aware of the race and navigate with caution.
