Mariners are advised that on Monday 5th May at or around 1530 BST, a small pyrotechnic display will take place at HMS Belfast. For a period of up to 10 minutes, pyrotechnics will be detonated to simulate the firing of the vessel’s guns.
During the display, an exclusion zone will be established around HMS Belfast extending 70 metres from the vessel as shown in the below diagram. No vessel is to be inside the exclusion zone shown in red on the chartlet below.
Local Traffic Control will be in place between Tower Bridge and London Bridge up to 10 minutes either side of the display. This will be undertaken from a PLA Harbour Service Launch displaying blue flashing lights. The Harbour Service Launch will maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 14 with the prefix Thames Patrol.
All vessels intending to navigate between Tower Bridge and London Bridge are to call ‘Thames Patrol’ on VHF Channel 14 as follows:
