Upper Pool - The Tower of London Gun Salutes 2025

Mariners are advised that on the dates listed below, gun salutes of varying lengths will be fired from the Tower of London. 

All times are approximate.

During the firing, an exclusion zone will be established in front of the gun positions, extending 100m in front of the guns into the river and from the upriver end of Tower Pier to 60m downriver of the pier (see below chartlet).

As a result, Tower Pier will be cleared of all personnel and boats 15 minutes prior to the scheduled gun salutes. No vessel may approach closer than 60 metres to the pier when passing this location.  

Local Traffic Control will be in place between Tower Bridge and London Bridge 10 mins either side of all Salutes. This will be undertaken from a PLA Harbour Service Launch displaying blue flashing lights. The Harbour Service Launch will maintain a listening watch on VHF Ch 14.  

All power-driven vessels intending to navigate between Tower Bridge and London Bridge are to call ‘Thames Patrol’ on VHF Channel 14 as follows:   

• Inbound at Wappingness  
• Outbound at Southwark Bridge  

 In addition to those outlined above, there may be other gun salutes throughout 2025 at short notice.
