Mariners are advised that on or about Monday 31st March 2025 contractors will commence borehole work within the Houses of Parliament exclusion area. These works are expected to last up to 26 weeks.
To facilitate these works, the jack up barge HAVEN SEAJACK 2 will be positioned in the Houses of Parliament Exclusion zone. At times, she will be attended by barges, tugs and workboats. All works will take place within the Houses of Parliament exclusion area, which remains in force throughout the works.
To facilitate these works, at times and for extended durations, No. 2 arch of Westminster Bridge will be closed to navigation.
Arches closed to navigation will be marked in accordance with the Port of London Authority (PLA) Thames Byelaws 2012 as depicted and by night lit with three red lights in a downward triangle.
Requirements to proceed with caution or at slow speed, will be made in accordance with the procedures set out in the Port of London Authority’s Port Information Guide, under ‘London VTS’, ‘Section 4’ with the International Code Flags ‘Romeo Yankee’ displayed, which are illustrated below.
The jack up barge will be lit by three all round lights in a vertical line, the highest and lowest of these lights shall be red and the middle light shall be white (as depicted below), as well as anchor light and deck lights.
The Houses of Parliament exclusion area remains in effect, except for pre-approved approved vessels as part of the works.
At times during the initial mobilisation/demobilisation the HAVEN SEAJACK 2 and associated vessels will be temporarily located on the South side of the river, outside the authorised channel. These operations will be for no more than 1 day, and a pass with caution will be in force.
Further details will be broadcast by London VTS on VHF Channel 14.
