Mariners are advised of Tideway Tunnel Project diving works at King Edward Memorial Park, near Shadwell Basin including scour protection installation and fendering works on the new river wall. Diving works are expected to continue for approximately 2 months.
The location of the works is shown in red on the chartlet below.
Divers will be operating in two areas during these works; to the front of the site installing scour protection from the barge DEVELOPER and to the sides of the site with the safety boat HUNTER in attendance. The vessels and dive teams will maintain a listening watch on VHF channel 14.
Due to the nature of these works, requests for vessels to proceed with caution or pass at slow speed will be made by London VTS on VHF ch.14, in accordance with the Port of London Authority’s Port Information Guide, under ‘London VTS’, section 4. International Code Flags ‘Romeo Yankee (RY)’ will be displayed accordingly.
All vessels are requested to be mindful of the nature of the works and of their wash when passing, and to be aware of vessels proceeding to and from the works.
Mariners are advised to read Safety Bulletin SB8-24 which shows the limits of the extended speed reduction area whilst diving works are ongoing.
Further details will be broadcast by London VTS on VHF Channel 14.
