Mariners are advised that on 23rd June 2025, for a period of 3 days, works to remove damage timber fender piles will be taking place at the upriver mooring dolphin on Red Lion Wharf, Gravesend Reach. The exact location of the works is depicted by a red box shown in the chartlet below:
Works will involve vessel GPS BOXER and include diving and heavy lifting operations, as well as personnel working at the waterline.
When diving is taking place, the GPS BOXER will display the following signals:
Any requirements to proceed with caution or at slow speed, will be made in accordance with the procedures set out in the Port of London Authority’s Port Information Guide, under ‘London VTS’, ‘Section 4’ with the International Code Flags ‘Romeo Yankee’ displayed, which are illustrated above.
The display of these signals will be in addition to any lights or shapes required under local regulations and the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea.
Further details will be broadcast as needed by London VTS on VHF channels 68.
