Northfleet Hope - Northfleet Hope Container Terminal - Dredging Operations

This Notice contains and expands on information previously contained within L40-25, which remains in place for other works.

Mariners are advised, on the 22nd May, short notice dredging operations will be undertaken at Northfleet Hope Container Terminal. Works are expected to take no longer than 1 day.  

The general location of works is indicated in the red box on the chartlet below: 

Vessels involved in operations will include “MAAS”, with vessels undertaking Water Injection Dredging on the ebb tide only. 

Any requirements to proceed with caution or at slow speed, will be made in accordance with the procedures set out in the Port of London Authority’s Port Information Guide, under ‘London VTS’, ‘Section 4’ with the International Code Flags ‘Romeo Yankee’ displayed, which are illustrated below.

The display of these signals will be in addition to any lights or shapes required under local regulations and the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea and maintain a listening watch on VHF channel 68.
