Mariners are advised that on 1st June 2025, a World Record Attempt is taking place between Tower Bridge and the outer limits of the Port. The attempt involves the 2-person rowing vessel ‘HOPE’, which is equipped with VHF and AIS, departing from Tower Bridge at 0615 and heading out to sea.
River users are to maintain a sharp lookout and navigate with caution with respect to this vessel, which may appear in waters that Mariners would not normally expect to find it.
The vessel ‘HOPE’ will be following the passage plan below which provides a useful guide to other river users:
Location | Approximate Time at Location |
---|---|
Tower Bridge | 0615 |
Greenwich Pier | 0715 |

The crew expect to complete the challenge and return to the Thames in late July.
A subsequent Notice to Mariners will follow to inform river users of the inbound passage, once the crew have arrived at Felixstowe.
