Tilbury Dock Departure Reporting

Mariners and agents are advised that following a successful trial, vessels departing Tilbury Docks are required to contact London VTS on VHF CH 68 to report of intention to depart the berth prior to letting go lines. This reporting procedure applies to all vessels within Tilbury docks including tug and tow. 

This is due to the continued increase in vessel traffic on the river Thames where London VTS need additional information to enable VTS to better manage traffic movements on the river Thames.

The current requirement for vessels to provide 10 minutes notice to depart Tilbury Lock and navigate on the river remains the same
