Greening Inland Shipping Conferences
The annual event, started in 2019, is developed for all stakeholders interested in the greening of inland shipping operations.
In the past we have welcomed vessel operators, companies contracting for shipping operations, equipment manufacturers, policy makers, researchers & developers, monitoring service providers, and students and academics to attend and participate.
Catch up now. On 7 March 2022, the PLA co-hosted a panel event with KTN, who helped us issue a call for a zero emission berth innovation. During the online session, solution providers showcased technologies that have the potential to help meet net zero goals. Our panellists -- who represented the typical vessels on the Thames -- included Kurt Cowdery from Cemex, John Spencer from GPS, Andrew Osbourne from the PLA and Tom Woods from Silver Fleet. KTN also set out different technological challenges and likely funding sources in 2022.
A year after the Thames’ first Greening Inland Shipping Conference & Exhibition, we gathered leading experts to examine progress, announced a #PledgetoNetZero and launched the Thames Green Scheme to encourage good environmental practice among inland operators.
The first Greening Inland Shipping exhibition and conference provided a unique platform in London for researchers, vessel operators and technology providers to come together. Together, we explored and exchanged on what is needed, and what existing, and what new technology can achieve. The free conference and exhibition was part of London International Shipping Week 2019.
